Representing Maintenance Department at the River East Transcona School Division Winnipeg Manitoba


We are the River East Transcona School Division Maintenance Department Union. Through collective bargaining, we strive to provide our members with the fair wages and safe working conditions they deserve in all categories. We represent over 220 members with different categories such as: Head Custodians, Custodians, Custodial Aides, HVAC Technician, Electrician, Steam/Pipe Fitter, Plumber, Carpenter Painter, Uncertified Tradesman, Utilityman, Truck Driver, Courier, Truck Driver Helper, Production Cook, Kitchen Assistant and Cashier.

Every day, you are the ones on the ground, doing the hard work that keeps our schools and buildings moving. Your commitment to your jobs, and to doing them with excellence, not only serves our community but also gives our union its foundation. Whether you’re working the early shift, putting in overtime to meet a demands, or training the next generation of workers, your effort does not go unnoticed.

We here at CUPE 4635 keep the schools and buildings running. We maintain, fix and clean the schools and buildings with pride and skills to keep it safe for all students and staffs. Announcement and Memorandum

Thank you for attending the Head Custodian Meeeting. These meetings will be held in the spring and fall of each year. Carpy Lopez was introduced as the newest member of the custodial leadership team. To ensure concerns and operational changes are addressed in a transparent and structured manner, the Division has established regular Labour Management Meetings every 3 months. Membership Card

A CUPE membership card is a document that signifies an employee's support for and desire to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees, and it's a crucial step in the process of unionizing a workplace. Signing the card indicates that you authorize ... CUPE to represent you in collective bargaining with your employer, and the cards are confidential. Once a majority of workers sign cards, the union can apply to the relevant labour board for a representation vote, and if the vote is successful, the union is certified. Our CUPE membership card are available now, please attend our general meeting to get your membership card and get some privelges with discounts.(10-25)

To get a CUPE Manitoba luggage tag, you need to become a CUPE member during their 2025 member drive. Sign up through the CUPE Manitoba website, and they will mail you a free luggage tag as a thank you for joining (10-25). Sign Up Here!

The purpose of the Sick Bank is to alleviate hardship by providing temporary salary assistance. This is a process to help a member when possible to bridge between sick leave and one of the following: collecting of EI, CPP, Canadian Disability.
